Fan Letter: “I Love The Classics”

Dear Simon, Pig, et. al.,

I have been a faithful reader of Unfettered Letters for many years, and I’m always telling people about your stuff. I especially love the classic bits like "I’ll Stand By You When You Get Cancer" and "Millionaire Mommies." Could you maybe bring back those golden nuggets, and "replay" them, so to speak? It would be a gas to share them with my son, Shem, who’s just turning about the same age I was when I first began reading U.F.. For awhile, I was able to find "Classic ‘Letters’: Best of the Early Years" on eBay, but that was only Volume 2 and 4, and now it’s almost impossible to get anything at all. I think I can safely speak for all Letter-Bugs when I say that we would dig it if you remind the world again why you’re rightly famous. Let us chuckle and guffaw to some of the old stand-bys, like "A Jew Comes to Pittsburgh" and "Mr. Guppy and His Aquarium Adventures" and "Clitoris and The Nibs Play The Garden." I have such fond memories of staying up late and laughing my ass off to the old-school stuff. And while you’re at it, can you also let us have another look at that interview with Jan-Michael Vincent from 1977? Many people say that was the turning point for him. Thanks, guys.

Here out in literary land,

Destry Woods
